About Her
I love primitives, antiques, vintage signs, and collectibles. Traveling to the hills and small towns in the Ohio Valley to find picks is so exciting and eating in cafes and living the simple life is important to me. I also enjoy going to elementary schools and conducting hands on creative programs on Native Americans using lots of tools and artifacts in the process. I enjoy writing about Native cultures of the region and have a couple of projects in the works as well. I have a small antique shop and flea market booth I love keeping stocked by hitting up flea markets, garage sales, old barns and collectors looking for bargains.
I love meeting other folks who dabble in collecting and selling antiques and primitives, talking to small town folks about their history and what the region was like back in the day. I do struggle to make ends meet but I am determined and just keep trying to make a living doing what I love to do and what I am good at. I keep the learning curve bending by trying to educate myself about new areas of antiques, painting old furniture, and repurposing old pieces into something new.
I like to go home in the late afternoon, watch TV and relax surrounded by my pets and my books. Sometimes I go down to the garage and work on a project for the shop or for myself.
In my free time, which there is really very little anymore, I might take off in the van, go out on some back roads, see the old cabins, bridges, take some pictures, look for a "pick" or just go see some old friends for an afternoon to talk about Native cultural history or catch up on gossip.
About Her Ideal Match
I am looking for someone who is a product of the 70's in a way with a hippie sort of personality but serious about making a living and establishing relationships. The kind of man I am hoping to find would love rock music from that era but also enjoy some country and maybe even a little classical thrown in. He would enjoy and even live for history, especially love antiques, primitives, the country life in small town southern Indiana.
He would love to go out and eat, be supportive of my work and my need to go to schools out of state and be there when i need a helping hand, an ear to hear my complaints and just be there for me in every way. I would love to have someone who is financially secure and able to travel with me to the schools when I need to go or at least go with me on long distance trips overnight on occasion.
I really need someone who is into primitives, antiques, vintage signs, loves to chat with old timers, local collectors, etc. and is willing and able to go with me and help me with picks and the antique and flea market booths and shop that I have. I really need a special man who is a partner in the business in some sense and wants to help with loading, unloading, traveling, and as many aspects of the business as possible. I would love someone who is almost addicted to antiques, and wants to join forces with me.
I don't want to go to bars, watch sports or hang out with people who just want to talk politics or spend time online chatting about nothing. I really want someone who is a down home guy who sees in me a life partner, friend and companion that shares a real love of history. I spent over 30 years attending 18th century re-enactments, festivals and now I am hoping to find someone that will just be with me on short road trips looking for antiques, vintage pieces and just have fun doing it so we can make a living out of it.
