About Him
While studying translation in Belgium, I became very fond of literature (French, English and Spanish) ... I still read and write a lot in these languages but when I came back to live in my homevillage, after retiring, I developed two more addictions : one for permaculture and the other for hiking.
I have just finished building a house on a 4 ha barren land, where I have started some farming. I am also planning to start a guesthouse, some kind of cultural cross-road where I could entertain friends from different countries and cultures, somehow as I used to do during the 24 years I spent out of Morocco and more especially when I was on duty ...
Yes, I was very fortunate to work and study abroad and thus be introduced to other cultures with ways of living often very different from my initial ones yet tremendously enriching as I was to discover later ...
The 24 years I spent abroad I did as follows : As a student and migrant worker, 8 years in Belgium. As a diplomat, 6 in Spain, 3 in RDCongo, 2 in South Africa, and 5 in Indonesia and Singapore ...
I also had a translating and language - teaching career (7 years), most of which took place in Morocco.
I know that, somewhere, there must be some daring and intelligent lady who is interested in living the same experience as mine (literature, permaculture, the wild, etc.) I therefore invite such a wonderful lady to join me here and at least try ... !
But that doesn't mean that I wouldn't relocate somewhere else if I could be talked into it by some irresistible companion ... Sure, but as long as I would still be able to busy myself with permaculture and ... the rest ! :-)
About His Ideal Match
My ideal companion should also enjoy reading and entertaining, love country life and outings in the wild and - for better communication - be willing to try learning one of the local languages of my homevillage people (Berber or Arabic). And why not both ?! I shall be delighted to use my language teaching experience ! (I do realize that I'm asking for the Moon ...But why not give it a try all the same !)
