About Her
I'm a woman of contrasts. Thoughtful, occasionally irreverent. Ambitious about my work, but uninterested in the things the world tells us we should be chasing. I love intellectual sparring, silliness, spontaneous laughter and the pleasure of being together.
Life has taught me a few things, sometimes dramatically. Once a fitness fanatic, health challenges changed my relationship with my body and the pace of my life. These days, I live more gently, although my mind missed that memo! I still run my business, love my work and live a wonderfully full life. I've discovered that a full life needn't be a frantic one.
Perhaps the greatest gift those experiences gave me was an appreciation for the present. I love making little ceremonies out of everyday life. Flowers in a vase. A thoughtfully prepared meal. Morning coffee enjoyed rather than gulped down. Conversations that wander long past their intended destination. Sharing a space without needing to fill every silence.
I'm curious about people and what makes them who they are. I value integrity, kindness, humility, humour and the ability to laugh at ourselves.
My spiritual life is important to me, although I'm more interested in how our beliefs shape the way we live than in what we call them. I believe there's room for many paths and perspectives. What matters most is how we treat one another. My studies have taught me to hold life more lightly, give my best without trying to control every outcome, and find peace even when circumstances aren't perfect. I'm still a student of all that.
In a relationship, I bring affection, fierce loyalty, playfulness, genuine interest in another person's world and a great deal of heart. I believe in showing up for each other, in the small everyday ways as much as the big ones.
I'm not looking for someone to complete my life. I rather like the life I have.
But there's something beautiful about two people who have lived enough to know what matters, choosing to share the ordinary, extraordinary business of being alive.
About Her Ideal Match
I'm drawn to a man who is comfortable in his own skin. Someone who has lived enough to know that strength doesn't need to announce itself, kindness is never weakness, and being right is considerably less important than being able to listen.
Intelligence attracts me, but intellectual curiosity attracts me more. I love a man who can challenge my thinking, make me laugh until my sides hurt, and occasionally surprise me with a perspective I hadn't considered. Someone who can move effortlessly between a wonderfully silly conversation and one that explores the deeper questions of life.
Integrity is non-negotiable. I admire people whose words and actions agree, who treat others with dignity regardless of their circumstances, and who have the humility to acknowledge when they've got something wrong.
I have a rich spiritual life, and I would love to share that dimension of myself with someone who approaches life with an open mind. We needn't believe the same things. In fact, our differences could make life rather interesting. But mutual respect, freedom of thought and an absence of judgment matter enormously to me.
I'm attracted to warmth, affection, emotional generosity and a playful spirit. A man who is capable of genuine intimacy, who communicates rather than withdraws, and who understands that love lives as much in everyday consideration as it does in grand gestures.
My life is full, meaningful and physically a little gentler than it once was. I'd love someone who enjoys the quieter pleasures without losing his appetite for life, adventure or discovery.
And perhaps most importantly, someone who doesn't need to rescue me, change me or complete me. Nor I him.
Just two whole, imperfect human beings who genuinely enjoy one another, choose each other freely, and make the ordinary days something rather special.
A mischievous sense of humour would be a considerable advantage. Mine has been known to get me into trouble. 😉
